The house is an unusual home built in the traditional Mexican way - around a
courtyard with a fountain in the middle. Henry Bunch is the person who designed
and built the home. He and his wife, prominent portrait artist Carolyn Bunch built
the home for themselves. The Casita was originally Carolyn’s studio and the
house was setup as a gallery. Currently, they operate the Adobe Patio Art Gallery here in Mesilla.
The pictures do not do justice to the 12 and 14 foot ceilings which give an air of spaciousness. Rosie’s personal art collection is displayed which makes the house totally unique, in an eclectic, New Mexican artistic style.
The main house has a living room, dining room, kitchen, and 2 bedrooms (the Master Bedroom and the Cosy) surrounding the courtyard.
Across the courtyard lies the Casita, complete with a ‘kitchenette and full size fridge. As convenient as it is to have a kitchenette, most folks prefer to eat out at one of 14 "home style cooking" restaurants located within walking distance
